About the Event

Alaska Sexual Assault Response and Investigations Training

An 8-session series sponsored by CDVSA in partnership with the Alaska State Troopers, SOA Dept. of Law, ANWRC, and the Alaska Training Cooperative

Application Deadline: Friday, October 16

Training Dates: November 9 - December 4, 2020

A Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is a multidisciplinary interagency team consisting of victim advocates, law enforcement officers, forensic examiners (such as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners), and prosecutors who provide a coordinated, efficient, and supportive response to persons who have been sexually assaulted. The Sexual Assault Response Team is designed to reduce the trauma of a sexual assault by providing victim-centered advocacy and to increase the likelihood that assaults can be successfully prosecuted.

Who is eligible to apply? Members of active SAR Teams (advocates, nurses/forensic examiners, law enforcement, and prosecutors) across the state of Alaska including those without a full team in their community but who respond to sexual assault reports and coordinate with teams in other communities to provide a full continuum of care to victims. Please encourage members of your SART team to apply along with you.
